Mont Tremblant Snowshoeing

Mont Tremblant Showshoeing, Canada Travel Vlog

After going on an activity filled getaway to Mont Tremblant with my friend Gaby, my love for winter activities has been renewed. What I’ve learned over the past few years of embracing winter (see My Perfect Canadian Winter, and An Ice Skating Trail In Muskoka) is that when you get out and enjoy the season instead of hibernating in fear of the cold, there are so many amazing life adventures waiting to be experienced. Mont Tremblant Showshoeing (and the other fun winter activities we did; which I’ll be sharing over the next few days and you can see here.) reminded me of how much fun winter really is!

Snowshoeing is an activity that I always said I wanted to do, but never actually got around to doing…until now. I was surprised to find out how easy was, because prior to the excursion I had visions of struggling through the snow, ending in exhaustion. I was happy to find out that this was not the case at all! Snowshoeing is just like walking, except with large “shoes” on your feet. Of course it is still a work out, but in the best kind of way. So if you’re interesting in trying it out, but have been a little hesitant, you can put your worry aside, because you don’t need to be a fitness buff to enjoy this activity; our group was made up of people of every age.

We started at the Activity Centre in Mont Tremblant Village (you book the excursion through them) and made our way through a beautiful forest, full of towering trees echoing sounds of wood peckers, and decorated with the occasional claw mark from the bears who have climbed them.

Part way through the journey we stopped at an spot overlooking the rest of the forest, and our guide surprised us with marshmallows we could roast over a fire he made on the snow. He even had all the ingredients so we could make s’mores – how cool is that?! Making s’mores is one of my favourite things to do all year round, so you can imagine how excited I got when he pulled them out. Clearly, I was thoroughly impressed.

After devouring more than my share of the s’mores (#sorrynotsorry), we continued snowhoeing and came across the most spectacular ice wall. Literally, it was a gigantic wall that seemed to be equally vast in height and length, made of ice. Our guide even broke pieces off for us to eat; which again, I was thrilled about. The ice was crystal clear and unbelievably refreshing.

All in all, the excursion exceeded my expectations and has given me the urge to explore more places by way of snowshoeing. I’ll be putting in on next winter’s bucket list for sure!

If you have any questions about the Mont Tremblant Snowshoeing, ask away – I’m more than happy to chat about it with you.

Have you ever been snowhoeing? If not, are you interested? If so, where do you do it, and what did you think about it? I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below!

Looks like an amazing adventure! What a beautiful experience. The “ice falls” are stunning.
