Essie Nail Stickers – “So Haute!”

For Easter my sister and I decided to try these fun looking Essie nail stickers; which also happen to have the most perfect name “so haute!” πŸ˜‰ It was my first time attempting nail stickers and I’m really happy with how they turned out! I figured it would be fun and helpful to share my process with a little ‘nail how to’ tutorial below:

Also, I swear it’s just a coincidence that the colour of my mug and the Essie nail stickers are a perfect match! The nail kit comes with 18 nail stickers in nine different sizes, a nail file, and a cuticle pusher.

I started with the end closest to my cuticles, and pressed down lightly in the middle of the nail. I then slowly pressed each side down. For a few nails, I found it necessary to slightly stretch the stickers to the side of my nail. For the most part they fit well; though there were a few that didn’t completely cover the sides of my nails. Not a big deal though, as it’s only really noticeable if you look up closely.

Once the stickers were on my nails, I cut off the excess sticker length as close to my nail tip as possible. I figure I can be creative and use them as future nail decor – maybe small strips or something. I’ll be sure to let you know what I do with them! Once I cut the stickers, I had to file down the tips of my nails/the stickers. I found it worked best to file my nails with the white side of the nail filer, in a downward motion.

Voila! In no time at all I had haute looking nails that I couldn’t stop staring at! Aren’t the gold spiked crimson dots delightful?! My sister and I also decided they looked like little Easter Eggs – perfect for our dinner festivities!

P.S. I got my ring is from “oh hello friend” at the One Of A Kind Show in Toronto! Unfortunately, they said most of their jewelry is not up on their shop at the moment…but I’m hopeful it will be soon!}

    Love nail stickers! I have used the Sally Hansen ones before. So easy to use and they actually last really well. I will be picking up the Essie ones next time I am at Target. I love the colour of the ones you are wearing!

      Thanks! They’re definitely worth testing out to see how you like them! As with nail polish, the tips seem to “chip” but overall they’re an easy way to get stellar nail art!
