When I typically think of denim skirts, I think ‘casual’ and end up wearing them with a basic tee; however, for this outfit I felt dressing the skirt up a bit by pairing it with my oh-so-pretty Banana Republic top. The floral print and ruffle flutter sleeves make the look a lot more feminine, and the blouse-like material makes it feel a little more dressy.
I still wanted a causal feel to the look though – you know, for walking around the city and such – so I chose to wear my gold flats from Old Navy because they’re both pretty and super comfortable.
I could also see myself dressing up this denim skirt with a classic white button-up shirt and nude pumps, for a timeless look; or for a more modern look, a trendy top and wedge espadrilles.
