I love this look because of it’s ‘trendy meets elegant and lady-like’ vibe.
A fashion problem I often face is how to embrace the season’s best trends, while still staying true to my style. Do you ever struggle with this dilemma also?
As we’ve explored in previous blog posts (here and here), off the shoulder tops and dresses are a huge summer trend, and I’m loving it! Another fashion trend that I haven’t fully explored yet is crop tops. You’ll see in the photos below that my outfit features both trends in one with an off the shoulder crop top; so I’m totally in vogue right now 😉
The style problem I was faced with was how to wear this trendy off the shoulder crop top from Express and still feel feminine and elegant. I ended up pairing the top with this skirt from Forever 21 because of it’s lady-like silhouette. I also knew that because the skirt hit my at my natural waist less skin would show, making it look classy and elegant.
Accessorizing with a timeless handbag and classic pumps, plus simple jewellery, are a huge reason why this outfit gives off that ‘elegant and lady-like’ vibe. The style would completely change with a different handbag, shoes and jewellery!
Today’s outfit is one I love wearing on a date night, to a party, or even to meetings (I can get away with it because I work in the fashion industry; but I wouldn’t recommend it if you work in the corporate world).
