Two Gowns I Swoon Over – The 83rd Academy Awards

Okay so, I have a bit of a confession to make…yesterday I showed you some of my favourite gowns from the The 83rd Academy Awards, but I saved my two absolute favourites for today!! I apologize for withholding such beauty, but it just had to be done. I felt they deserved a post all to themselves – yes, they are just that swoon-worthy. Without further adieu, here are my top two Oscar loves:

Why I love the Black Halo dress worn by Louise Roe: It’s a suit turned evening gown…need I say more?!?! The asymmetrical tiers at the hip and folds in the skirt, the “jacket” silhouette with a deep V neck and 3/4 sleeves, the pale pink hue that gives this dress it’s “feminine” appeal, the complimentary satin and diamond belt, mixed with jewelry that screms “bling” and elegance….it all intrigues me and makes it hard to break my gaze with this beauty! Even Louise’s manicure matches so perfectly!! She looks stunning!

Why I love the Maria Lucia Hohan dress worn by Maria Menounos: The seam-foam green is not a colour worn often but it’s a perfect match for this romantic silhouette and Maria wears it beautifully! I love love love that the dress is made to look like there are cut-outs at side seams showing her skin, even though there’s material there to hold the bodice in place – what a modern detail!!  The flowing draped skirt, to me, screams romance and freedom. I love that the straps form a v-neck at the front and continue into thicker straps at the back. The multiple direction ruching keeps the sweetheart bodice interesting. The diamond Jacob & Co jewelry is the perfect accent to such a luxurious dress.
