Lunch at Spirit Tree Estate Cidery / Where To Go Near Toronto

Where to go near Toronto has been at the forefront of my “to go to” research, because lately I’ve been on a mission to experience more of life. And by that I mean get out and explore new places; because you guys, there are so many cool places to see and things to do, and such a short time to see and do them in.

If you live in the city, like me, and are wondering where to go near Toronto then put Spirit Tree Estate Cidery on your list. It’s in Caledon, about a 45 minute drive from Toronto, and the food is delicious.

I went with my friend Gaby because we heard amazing things about their wood oven pizza. Unfortunately, the pizza wasn’t available in their Ciderhouse Bistro on the day we went. We could have bought a slice (or two) from their farm shop (as seen in the photos below) but the purpose of our trip was to have lunch in their bistro, so we’ll just have to make another trip back on the appropriate “pizza” day.

That being said, the food we did order was delicious and did not leave us disappointed. We both tried the cider (really great!); I had the tomato bisque soup (drool!), and Gaby had the quiche (which she really enjoyed!). Oh, and you must get the bread too!! It’s super fresh and melt-in-your-mouth good. We originally debated ordering it because it looked like a lot of bread (based on other people’s tables), but omgeee are we glad we didn’t pass it up. We ate every.single.piece. And we savoured every.single.bite.

Next time we visit, we’ll obviously experience their wood oven pizza, but I’d also like to go for a tour of their cidery, and do some apple picking when the season comes around again.

Oh ya, I’d recommend you book ahead of time if you want to eat at their Ciderhouse Bistro, because it’s not that big and it was really busy. We went during the week, FYI – so I can only imagine how busy it would be on the weekend.

Below I’m sharing pictures from our visit to the cidery, and you can also see more photos of the outfit I wore in this blog post.

What do you think? Are you putting this on your “where to go near Toronto” to do list? Make sure to let me know if you end up visiting and what you thought of it!
