Outfit // How To Dress Confidently As A Woman

Being self employed means my day-to-day can look so different, depending on what’s on my calendar. Some days I’m at home sitting behind my computer, so I opt for wearing comfortable loungewear. Other days I have to events and meetings to go to, and I always want to dress up for those.

Whether the vibe dictates a more causal-professional or business-professional look, one thing that doesn’t vary is that I want to look put together and stylish.

I’m a firm believer in dressing for the life you want, and the career you want; all the while staying true to who you are and being comfortable in your outfit. By comfortable I don’t mean sweat pants and a cozy sweater kind of comfortable; I mean feeling great in what you wear kind of comfortable.

The main reason for this isn’t because you’re trying to impress people through your outfit, it’s because when you wear something you feel comfortable in you will exude confidence!

Let’s face it friends, confidence is attractive. It’s confidence that will get you noticed, and it’s confidence that helps open the door to so many opportunities in life; for both work and play.

One of my go to stores for stylish, modern and versatile workwear is Ann Taylor, because every-time I wander into their store I find pieces that help me look polished, and ready to take on new opportunities to build a business and life I love.

The other day my mom and I went on a shopping date (it’s one of our things – we always get a drink first then wander the shops).  I wanted to pick up a few pieces to add to my wardrobe for fall, and I knew that Ann Taylor was a store I could count on.

Time and time again I have been able to count on them for clothes I can wear on days I want to look more sophisticated for meetings, but also transition to more casual environments like family get-togethers and brunch with friends on the weekend.

I ended up leaving the store with the grey trench coat and plaid dress that I’m wearing in these photos (as well as this dress that I’ll show you in another outfit post soon). I fell in love with these pieces because they have a feminine vibe that I love, and are also very versatile.

I can already see myself wearing both dresses with a pair of great boots when the weather cools down, and a chic moto jacket when I want to feel more edgy or casual.
