On Thursday evening I left for my cottage in Muskoka. I’ll be blogging from here throughout the week (and then again later in the month), so be prepared for a mini series “Gone Muskoka-ing”!!
My summer vacation couldn’t have started better – with a stop at Webers on my way to the cottage!!! Webers is only the BEST place to stop for bugers and fries (and well, you might as well get a milkshake too) when heading to Muskoka!!
When I get a glimpse of the Webers bridge from hwy 11, I admit, I get a little giddy. Especially because I really only stop there in the summer so the build up is huge.
A bit of interesting history: In 1983, Webers bought their orange pedestrian bridge for ONLY a $1 (rumour has it), from the CN Tower in Toronto in 1983, making it the first privately owned bridge to cross a highway in Ontario. Not only that, but it has probably doubled their business since, because they now get the traffic from both sides of the highway. They also have a bunch of trains on the property, one of which you can sit inside to eat your food.
Moral of the story: if you’re driving north of Orillia on hwy 11, stop at Webers! 😉
