A Haircut Donation For Cancer

A Haircut Donation For Cancer

Meet one of my sisters, Trish! πŸ™‚ There are so many words to describe how awesome she is…but there are two I want to focus on today: Caring and Courageous. Patricia has a huge heart and always wants to give to others (…others includes people and animals). For a few years she has been preparing herself, mentally and physically, to donate her hair. The Catch: 1) the hair donated must be a minimum of 10inches 2) For most of her life, Trish has had beautiful long hair that she’s LOVED. Seriously, it is gorgeous isn’t it?!

Despite the fact that she loves her long hair, she wanted to help those struggling with cancer, who need it more than she does at this moment. It took her a few years to get up the courage, but she knew in her heart is was something she really wanted to do, so she went to get her hair cut! How brave!

Of course, she looks just as gorgeous with short hair as she did with her long hair – I must say she looks stunning! Our hairdresser, April, cut off 13inches of my sisters hair and did a fabulous job! She is great, by the way, so if you’re ever in The Annex and find yourself in need of a haircut, stop by Studio 976 Hair Salon and ask for her…you can always email me for her number to make sure she’s in the day you plan to stop by!

If you’d like to donate you hair, the Canadian Cancer Society (click here) tells you what programs you can choose to send your hair to, and lists some of the requirements for these programs. You can always contact them individually for more specific information! This is a great way to get a new look while making a difference in someone’s life! I certainly do not have the courage my sister did, and I am oh-so-proud of her!! ♥

Connie, first off, you don’t have too much grey! lol. and even so, I’m sure some places don’t mind grey?! You’d have to look into it! Second, I’ll pass your message on to Patricia, although she’s a frequent reader of Haute, so I’m sure she’ll see it herself! πŸ™‚
